Tense

It’s a jangly sensation. My nerves jangle. And my body is a tight string of a thing. My back feels like an armadillo’s carapace, armour-plated, hard. It’s work mostly. And all that I ask of myself. The prospect of teaching today hasn’t helped. It’s all that unknown stuff. All that public stuff. I want to hide, to crawl away somewhere and be in the dark. The heavy sky that brought rain is lifting, and it will be alright. It mostly is. And even when it isn’t I always survive it. Naturally. So let it be. Even the tension. Let it be as it is.
