Fresh Air

It’s a small thing. But small things are what I notice these days, and cherish. I don’t look forward to walking. My legs, knees and hips hurt from the bare bones grinding against each other. I walk stiffly and awkwardly. I am like the Little Mermaid given legs that cut like knives. But I can walk and I do. And for that I am grateful. I came back from one such walk yesterday and felt the coldness of the air on my cheek and it was marvellous.
