Joan Didion

I found her writings through a radio programme about travelling across the US. The presenter mentioned her and I bought her book about the deep south. I begun another. This is her account of grief. Her grief after her husband died suddenly of a heart attack. Her writing is raw. There is no soft edges, no sentiment. It cuts. She is cut and we are cut. It is good. It is very very good.
